The transport of goods always involves unexpected risks,.. so insurance is strongly advisable.
The freight transit insurance provides a monetary coverage of all aspects involved in the movement of the goods from your door to the door of the destination.
The coverage provided by the transporter DOES NOT cover all aspects of the possible damages incurred. This is a common misconception and can cause major losses. The coverages provided only apply to those damages, which can be definitely identified to have been due to negligence by the transporter.
Statistics do point out major losses that are incurred during the actual storage and loading of the goods, mishaps caused by other drivers, thievery and other misdemeanors are not the responsibility of the freight agent!
It pays to obtain proper transit insurance!
For "All Risks" coverage of the goods the fee is assessed at 0.018%.
Valued goods at 50 000 EURO would cost 90 EURO.
For a 15 000 EURO value the fee is only 40 EURO. This is minimum coverage.
Surely, so little is worth that much!
